District 1A Committeeman

Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Alex Perry, and I am asking for your support for election as District Committee Representative for District 1A, representing Boxline, Motorline, Pre-Final 1, 2, and 3, and Paint.

I have been a proud UAW member since April 16, 2012, and have worked at Flint Truck Assembly since 2010. I come from a strong union household, with multiple family members — including my parents, grandmother, and uncles — who retired from Flint Truck & Bus, instilling in me the values of hard work, solidarity, and standing up for workers’ rights.

I have served the membership in several union roles, including Third String Representative, Alternate Committeeman, and currently District Committeeman. I have also completed training at the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education Center at Black Lake, including Law and Arbitration and Bargaining Boot Camp, among others.

The issues I care most about on the shop floor are all of them — ensuring the contract is enforced, members are treated fairly, and everyone has a strong voice and representation. Coworkers describe me as dedicated, fair, and someone who brings both commitment and approachability to the job.

Outside of work, I am actively involved in the community as a youth sports coach, working to support and mentor the next generation.

I believe our union is strongest when we stand united. If elected, I will continue to serve District 1A with honesty, accountability, and dedication to protecting the rights and interests of every member.

Thank you for your consideration and your support. In Solidarity, Alex Perry
