Amari Burke

Hi, I'm Amari Burke, a second-generation UAW member from Local 598. I began my journey at Flint Assembly as a temporary employee in 2012 and became permanent in 2016. My experience has taught me the value of being a dedicated union member. I have actively participated in various educational conferences at Black Lake through the International UAW, where I earned certification as an Effective Educator. Additionally, I have taken classes at the University of Michigan-Dearborn focused on understanding contract language.

I have volunteered with and supported several standing committees, including Community Service (Adopt a Highway), the Diversity Committee (Black History Month & Hispanic Heritage Month), and EAP (MOST), to name a few. I work to foster solidarity among workers, ensuring we stay united for our shared goals. Currently, I serve as a trainer on the launch team, playing an important role in preparing our membership for successful product launches.

Today, I am excited to announce my candidacy for your UAW Sergeant at Arms. In this position, I aim to maintain order within our union meetings, support our members & "Restore solidarity" effectively.
