Boyd "Bo" Browning Jr.

Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Boyd “Bo” Browning Jr. I am seeking your support for re-election as Alternate Committee member representing District 3A, which includes the Skilled Trades, Material, and Salvage departments. I am currently serving my third term in this role, and this election marks my second opportunity to serve on first shift. I have been a proud UAW member in good standing since August 14, 2000, and many of you know me simply as “Bo.” I come from deep UAW roots and was raised in a UAW household, where the values of solidarity, fairness, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow workers were instilled at an early age.

Throughout my years on the shop floor, I have worked to be accessible, listen to members’ concerns, and ensure our contract is applied fairly and consistently. I recognize the distinct challenges that Skilled Trades, Material, and Salvage workers face—such as safety, staffing issues, job security, overtime, and workplace respect—and I am dedicated to advocating for all members of our district.

In 2025, I completed Bargaining and Contract Enforcement training at the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education Center at Black Lake, along with many other training classes over the years, strengthening my ability to defend members’ rights and protect the benefits we have fought hard to earn.

Outside the plant, I am deeply involved in our community. I serve as a middle school robotics coach, Scoutmaster for two Scouts BSA troops, and the founding Advisor for a Venturing Crew in Linden, Michigan. I am also a recipient of the George Meany Award, which recognizes union members who provide outstanding service to youth, reflecting my commitment to leadership, service, and developing the next generation — the same values that guide my union work.

I believe our union is strongest when we stand united. If re-elected, I will continue to serve District 3A with honesty, accountability, and dedication, working to ensure every member’s voice is heard and every member is treated with fairness and respect.
