Candidate for Financial Secretary
Brothers and Sisters,
My name is Chad Fabbro, and I am asking for your vote to continue serving as your Financial Secretary for UAW Local 598.
I’ve been proud to walk the floors of GM since 2001. Over the last 25 years, I’ve stepped up to serve this membership because I believe in our union and I believe in fighting for what we’ve earned. From 2011 to 2017, I fought for you on the shop floor as the District Committeeman for the Trim and Body shops. Since 2017, I’ve had the honor of serving as your Financial Secretary.
In that office, I’ve managed our local's finances through some of our toughest battles, including holding the line during the 2019 national strike and navigating the unprecedented challenges of the 2020 pandemic. I know how to protect our resources when times get lean. My background in managing billing for my family’s business, Fabbro’s Towing, taught me early on that every dollar count, and I treat our union dues with that exact same respect.
But my commitment to this local doesn't stop at the plant doors. Since 2014, I have had the privilege of representing Flint Assembly as a delegate at every UAW Constitutional Convention. I make sure that when the International makes decisions, Local 598’s voice is loud, clear, and respected at the table.
Giving back to the community that supports us has also always been a priority of mine. For a decade, I served as President of the Vulcaneer Arbor for the Gleaner Life Insurance Society, where we directed over $100,000 back to local veterans, seniors, and working families. I also spent over ten years helping guide our local youth as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Committee Chair for Boy Scouts Troop 201.
When I’m off the clock, you can usually find me out hunting or fishing, or just spending time with my wife, Mindy, and our two sons, Marshall and Maddox.
Experience, transparency, and solidarity matter. I've stood with you through the hard times, and I'm ready to keep fighting for our future. I would be honored to have your vote.
