D'Andre Jackson

I currently serve as your Recording Secretary and am running for re-election to continue providing disciplined, accurate, and accountable leadership for Local 598. I bring 10 years of experience on the Bargaining Committee, elected by acclamation once as an Alternate and twice as a District Committee person. I was also elected by the membership to represent Local 598 as a delegate at the 38th UAW Constitutional Convention. Through that experience, I've developed a leadership style built on consistency, discipline, and putting the membership first. I'm firm when needed, fair in my decisions, and I make sure I listen before I speak.

In 2020, I was appointed by the Chairman to serve on the Shop Committee as a District Shop. In that role, I worked alongside the Shop Committee on plant-wide issues, including the negotiation of our 2022 Local Agreement. The Recording Secretary position is more than just keeping records. It requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to doing things accordingly every time. I take seriously the responsibility of upholding our UAW Constitution and Local Bylaws, which together form the structure that keeps our Local strong and accountable.

I believe leadership should be earned through experience and proven through action, not driven by rumor or empty promises. My focus is on maintaining stability, protecting the integrity of this Local, and making sure our business is handled accordingly. Local 598 and Flint Assembly are very near and dear to my heart because this is where I hired in, and it stands as the heartbeat of my hometown, Flint, Michigan. I take pride in representing the members of this Local and remain committed to doing my part to keep it strong. As part of the Solidarity Restored Slate, I am committed to doing my part to keep this Local moving forward with structure, accountability, and purpose. I'm ready to continue serving as your Recording Secretary.
