DeWayne Tippit

Brothers and Sisters,

My name is DeWayne Tippit, and I am asking for your support for election as District Committee Representative for District 4B, representing Pre-Trim 1 & 2, Trim 1, 2, 3, 4, and Quality. I have been a proud UAW member since May 26, 2006, and have nearly 20 years of seniority, including 13 years at Flint Assembly.

I am a third-generation UAW member, and union values have always been an important part of my life.

I currently serve as a District Committee Representative and previously served as an Alternate Committee Representative. I also have experience working within Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) and serve as Co-Champion for Built-In Quality (BIQ) and Continuous Improvement (CI). I have completed UAW Bargaining Boot Camp, Contract Enforcement Boot Camp, and Grievance Handling training.

The issues I care most about on the shop floor are fairness, equality, and accountability. I believe in making sure every member is treated with respect and that the contract is enforced.

Coworkers describe me as honest, hardworking, dependable, and trustworthy.

Outside of work, I stay active in the community by working with the Robert Williams Smith Community Development Center, providing free music lessons to kids, and volunteering with a nonprofit that offers tutoring and mentoring for K–12 students. I also own a small music production company.

I believe strong leadership requires accountability, consistency, and commitment to the membership. If elected, I will continue to serve District 4B with integrity and dedication.
