Jerry Strauser

Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Jerry Strauser, and I am asking for your support for election as Alternate Committee for District 5C, which represents Body, IP, Doorline, and Kit Cell. I have been a proud UAW member since April 2003 and have dedicated 20 years to Flint Assembly, including 14 years of seniority. I come from a strong union background, with family members including my stepfather, grandfather, three uncles, and four cousins all connected to union work.

Throughout my years on the shop floor, I have worked to be honest, trustworthy, and approachable. I recognize the daily challenges experienced by members, including issues related to overtime equity, fair treatment, and workplace respect. I am dedicated to representing and advocating for every member within our district.

I believe fairness in overtime distribution and equal treatment for all members are essential to maintaining solidarity and trust on the shop floor. If elected, I will work to ensure that opportunities and protections under the contract are applied consistently and fairly to everyone.

Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, riding motorcycles, reading, and recently began golfing, helping me stay connected with friends, coworkers, and the community.

I believe our union is strongest when we stand united. If elected, I will serve District 5C with honesty, accountability, and dedication, working to ensure every member’s voice is heard and every member is treated with fairness and respect.
