“1st Class Truck Builders deserve 1st Class Leadership”
I’ve spent my time in this Local serving the membership and learning how to do the job the right way.
I’ve served three terms as Alternate Committeeman and three terms as Vice President, gaining the experience and perspective needed to represent this membership the right way and understand what life is like on the shop floor for our members. I’ve always believed in being accessible, reliable, and treating everyone the same—handling issues with equal fairness.
I also represented this Local as a delegate to three Constitutional Conventions, gaining firsthand knowledge of how our Union operates at the highest levels.
Serving the membership on the Bargaining Committee allowed me to build a strong relationship with our Bargaining Chairman—an essential relationship for a Local Union to stay strong and united. When both branches of our Local are aligned, we are unstoppable.
When our President, Ryan Buchalski, stepped down to accept an assignment at Region 1D, circumstances prevented me from giving this Local the time and attention it deserves from a Local President, so I stepped aside as President and ran again as your Vice President.
In that election, the membership showed their trust in me and understanding by electing me again to serve as your Vice President, where I have continued serving the Local and consistently supporting what is best for this Local and its membership.
The selfless decision to put the Local first before chasing a title reflects my belief that the position of Local President is about service, not status. Our Local deserves leadership that brings unity, integrity, and respect back to the membership.
As your Local President, I will push to use our financial strength to invest back into our membership and the communities we represent. Taking care of our retirees—who laid the foundation for everything we have today—will remain a priority, and they will continue to be recognized as a valuable resource for the history and legacy of this Local.
Together, we will Restore the Solidarity of Local 598.
