Lindsay Brooks

Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Lindsay Brooks, and I am asking for your support for election as Alternate Committee Representative for District 1A, representing Boxline, Motorline, Pre-Final 1, 2, and 3, and Paint. I have been a proud UAW member since 2006 and bring over 20 years of overall seniority, including 14 years here at Flint Assembly.

I come from a strong union background. My maternal grandfather served as a Committee Representative at Buick City. My paternal Grandfather retired as a carpenter from Flint Truck & Bus in 2004. From an early age, I learned the importance of solidarity, hard work, and protecting the rights of working families.

I currently serve as an Alternate Committee Representative for district 1A, and a former member of the Community Service Committee. I have also completed training at Black Lake in Community Service as well as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs to better serve the membership and strengthen our union.

The issues I care most about on the shop floor are fairness, accountability, and making sure members are treated with respect. Coworkers describe me as outgoing, transparent, hardworking, trustworthy, and dependable. I believe strong representation means being accessible, honest, and willing to stand up for what is right.

Outside of work, I am deeply involved in community service. I have volunteered with Old Newsboys, Toys for Tots, United Way ramp-building projects, and the Special Olympics. Giving back to our community is important to me because our union families are strongest when our communities are strong as well.

I believe our union is strongest when we stand united. If elected, I will serve District 1A with integrity, dedication, and a commitment to ensuring every member’s concerns are heard and addressed fairly.
