Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Nicole Bates, and I am seeking your support in the election for Alternate Committee for District 5B, which includes Body Shop, IP Line, Door Line, and Kit Cells. I began my UAW membership on February 5, 2005, and achieved my seniority date on October 15, 2007. I have proudly worked at Flint Assembly for over 13 years and remain committed to serving the membership of our local.

I come from a strong union background. My mother was a UAW member from 1990 to 2020, and her example instilled in me the importance of solidarity, fairness, and standing up for working families. Those values continue to guide my actions both on and off the job.

The issue I care most about on the shop floor is union education for both new and senior employees, ensuring everyone understands our contract and the language that protects and benefits us. An informed membership is a stronger membership, and I believe knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we have as union workers.

Coworkers describe me as honest, logical, and loyal — qualities I bring to every situation. I believe representation requires fairness, consistency, and a willingness to listen, and I am committed to treating every member with dignity and respect.

I believe our union is strongest when we stand united. If elected, I will serve District 5B with integrity, accountability, and dedication, working to ensure every member’s voice is heard and every member is treated fairly.

Thank you for your consideration and your support. In Solidarity, Nicole Bates
