Stan Cherwinski

Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Stan Cherwinski, and I am asking for your support for election as District Committee Representative for District 4A, representing Pre-Trim 1 and 2, Trim 1–4, and Quality. I have been a proud UAW member since May 23, 1994, and have dedicated decades of service to this plant. Although I was laid off and relocated several times, I returned to Flint Truck — my home plant — in 2001 and have remained committed to serving the membership here.

I come from a union family background, as my father was a union boilermaker, where the values of hard work, integrity, and standing up for workers’ rights were instilled early in my life.

I previously served as Alternate Representative for District 4A from 2017 to 2024 and have continued serving as District Representative since then. During that time, I have worked to follow the contract and ensure members are protected both contractually and ethically while performing their jobs.

The issues I care most about on the shop floor are making sure people are taken care of and that the contract is enforced. Coworkers describe me as hardworking, trustworthy, and someone who will do whatever it takes to help “your people.”

Outside of work, I am actively involved in the community, supporting conservation efforts, state and national parks, charitable causes, equal rights, labor issues, autism awareness, the Special Olympics, and animal welfare. I am also a family-oriented individual, an avid outdoorsman, a sports enthusiast, and proud to have been born and raised in Montrose, Michigan.

I believe our union is strongest when we stand united. If elected, I will continue to serve District 4A with honesty, accountability, and dedication, working to uphold the contract and ensure every member is treated fairly.
