District 2B Committeeman

Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Stu Billey, and I am asking for your support for election as Alternate District Committee for District 2B, Chassis 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Stores, DVT, Reprocess, and Final 4 & 5. I have been a proud UAW member since December 3, 2018, and have continued building my experience and commitment to serving our membership.

I come from a strong union family with deep roots across multiple locals. My sister is a member of Local 598; my father is a member of Local 651, and my mother was a member of Local 599. My grandfather and grandmother were also proud union members, along with my stepmother and great-grandfather, who was part of Chevrolet. Being raised in a union household has instilled in me the importance of solidarity, fairness, and standing up for our brothers and sisters.

I recently served as Co-Chairman of the Local 598 Election Committee and as a Team Leader, gaining valuable leadership and organizational experience. I have also attended the Black Lake Veterans Conference, continuing to build my knowledge and understanding of union leadership.

The issues I care about most on the shop floor are fair treatment of workers and safety. Every member deserves to be treated with respect and to go home safe at the end of their shift. Coworkers describe me as knowledgeable, dependable, and helpful — qualities I bring to representing others.

Outside of the plant, I have been actively involved in the community as a former Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and as a past VFW Commander. I am also a graduate of the University of Michigan–Flint, earning a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with a minor in Psychology.

If elected, I will serve District 2B with dedication, integrity, and a strong commitment to fairness, safety, and accountability for all members.

Thank you for your consideration and your support. In Solidarity, Stu Billey
